Food can be found on the map and you can use Pick Up and Drop action for getting it in and out of your Inventory.

Food can be found almost everywhere. Food appears in chunks.

You may also Give Food to yours and all allied colonies. Colonies have a storage of food used for feeding the colony.

This way you may help your (or other) colonies to order them to just expand (or produce warriors maybe) and you provide the food.

You may also instruct a colony to Package Food
